hey everyone. i spent the last 2 days learning HDRI from taking the photos to make a hdr image to applying it in maya using render layers
in maya 2010, i would like some feedback on how real this truck looks in the scene lighting wise

i know the the textures and shaders are bad because they are 2 Blinns and and grey Lambert.as i was only concentrating on the lighting

black blinn with .5 reflectivity on body.
black blinn wtih 1.0 reflectiving for chrome
default Lambert for all other geo
oh glass is just a trasparent blinn.

no composition software used rendered straight from maya render view.

lol, I'm such a newb.

Was just about to say, "Dude, your building is nicely modeled..." and then I clicked, da-da-da-durrr!

As for lighting crit, this car is too shiny! Your shadow is also far too light (compared to other vehicles).

I myself, understand all too well the allure of trying to get crit on one thing while disclaiming the "already known" aspects of a render. I suggest you knock out every detail one by one (modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering) in order to get the crit you need as opposed to bits and pieces from every man and his dog.

Keep at it and you will be as awesome as Sharpo!

haha i forgot all about this thing.

sorry guys for not keeping up with it.
ive actually lost the model and the hdri i made at the school parking lot to dead hard drive.

the shadow was light because i havent modelled the deck or insides. the light shines right though.

but i did get alot better.

sorry i cant show it. i miss that truck.
