Made an other mechanical design. Decided to put it in the same forum since it goes in the same style.
This one still needs a lot of work to become a finished peace. Please leave feedback!

And I need to add, I am not going to make more mechanical stuff in a while.

epic man! only thing that stands out to me is all the weight seems to be supported by only the three 'spokes' on each side (and two of them have a band in them). other than that thats coolio. plus i love the LOD all the way down to the brake pads and discs. nice. the theater type lights are a fricken cool touch as-well.

Keep it up!

EDIT: just checked the date stamps. I'm a bit bit late to the party. But hey.

Hey man

critic is always welcome, and as I said: this design is not finished so I will improve it and by then I am glad to have as mush feedback as possible. I agree that the wheels is not being given a lot of support. If you have any good idea of what to do that would be most welcome. Know it is lot to ask for but feel free to make a paint over:)

Thanks for the nice feedback!

Looks awesome! You always seem to get that texture detail spot on, are you using Mari?

Always sounds so arrogant when people talk about how work can be done but here it goes. This is how I think detail peaces should be achieved to be efficient and creative.

To your question:
Not that mush, mainly Mudbox, photoshop and what ever colour correction nodes and procedurals that there is in maya. There is actually a short description on my technique in this thread. Its about using a lot layered shaders and to texture every layer appropriate to its material and to layer the shaders that goes in to the final layered shader, your reflective scratches should not be left being perfectly reflective even if the scratches are small. A while back I never thought of mapping the glossiness and I find that to be very important when it comes to detailed work.

I also have to add that I work at a photography studio, equipment and people whit good knowledge when it comes to shooting a big and nice texture helps! :)
