hey am currently trying textures out for size and am making my old school sheld in 3d and cant seem to figure out how to get the right shape for the texture here is a ref image for the sheld and am currently creating the shape will post how far ive gotten with it but am not sure i can post on here someone tell me please thanks and wow worzel love the new upload program and just refering to the texture on the sheld to be put onto the animation how would i go around cutting this pic to put onto the animation

How about square. I would suggest modelling it first. The black beading could be geometry. Or pfx toon. The Flag Would look nicer modelled. Metal Satin Mia is nice as a preset. Don't over think the textures.

neuromancer lol... you think you could post an svg version? I'm on dialup. :lol:

plumetfilms Anything flat like a flag, is easily done as planar projection. For Maya, you will need to get to grips with the hypershader for pretty much all and any surface texturing. The hypershader is a good thing which will make questions like this one very clear.
