That is pretty sweet. I still have to try Mudbox 2009 with all it's fancy real time feedback shading stuff. Nice to see technology still moving ahead!

ipr for mental ray. yet faster and cooler. If you have ever wanted to update global, occlusion, final gather, shadows, menray shadows everything in almost almost real time update then this is the bomb. What came before is no more. Course that said I will still probably rendr in menray. More tests req...

Ahh I remember having a play with this a while ago...

dunno why I didn't keep playing with it. If my memory serves correct It was top stuff without any problems.

Also reminds me of a video I seen of a occlusion textured tank being rendered in realtime - sporting a 1000 tracing samples!

It was driven by a 100+ nodes in a linux cluster though so hehe. Can't remember where I saw it :P

Fantastico!

Blender had an overhaul of the 3D viewports a while back, and if you apply "GLSL shading" while sporting a graphics card with decent GPU (e.g. most nvidia) then you get something like this real time effect...

But where this one is much better is in the ability to raymirror... the Blender one doesn't pull off the proper reflections.

I'm wondering how efficiently this thing works... does it require a beast CPU and RAM to render on an average sized model?
