You could remove this screen. If a message is unable to be posted then you could have it. But when it posts just take the user to the newly posted message? Skips an entire redirect page!

Isn't a huge issue, since you're not going to be posting on a forum if you don't have spare time in the first place.

Edit: It appears the side effect of programming is you see everything as something to be optimized, regardless of necessity.

Hmmmm... hadn't thought much about it myself, although I did shorten the default length the screen sat there, so the wait wasn't so long.

The screen however isn't just a success screen, it gives you the option of returning to view your message, or return to the forum you were browsing. Having said that, I'm not sure if that's really necessary though. Personally, I always view my posted message... so perhaps it should just go back there without the screen, as you suggested.

Would be good to get a few more thoughts on that... but could be a useful change!

Thanks Jared.

It doesn't really bother me much. But I always do go through to read the thread i just posted on so it is a little unnecessary in my particular case.

Now when I post... I find that page unnecessary. Lol.

Only by removing it will we know if it holds the key to survival.

While we are on the subject, I usually get annoyed at the "you are now successfully logged in" message.
cause it usually redirects me to the main board, rather than which ever thread I was lurking in anon now that I want to post in it...

but its probably more integral to our universal survival...

Righto... trying it out. Will post this change in Announcements in case people are surprised by the change.

We'll see how it goes!
