Hey guys,

Well it's been a wee while since I was last here. I actually have been out and about a fair bit and not doing very much cg art as such -summer is coming here and its time to enjoy it. Had a short trip to NZ very recently (unfortunately too short to catch up with some of you), for which I bit the bullet and got myself a new camera. Ever since I've been taking quite a number of photos - thought i'd share a few here. I tell ya its really hard picking them... but for those than wanna see more just drop by my Flickr Page which I update every few days.

Gear : Canon EOS 40D with 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM Lens + 50mm f1.8 Fixed Lens (shown here with +4 closeup filter)

Woah, those are some amazing pics... just look at the details! Particularly lovin that sheep one. Do you speak sheep? So you were able to ask them to line up, lean slightly, and look at you like that?
Bet you're thrilled with the purchase!

Indeed I am :D

The sheep one was actually bit of a stand off. These where the hardened "seen it all before" kind of sheep. One was actually stomping and seemed ready to charge. Nothing like a camera flash to get the upper hand of the situation haha.

Looking good! Aren't animals in plastic cones hilarious ;-) When my burmese Coco had one she got suicidal, and would only walk backwards, and sat in a corner refusing to come out. I write this from sunny Northamptonshire, in your time zone for once!

Yes sheep are great, also closeup of the guys face is excellent, so clear.

Hey Rev

Your photos are inspiring, have you put them up on your website or something?

The dog portraits are awesome. You are really showing their dog personality, do you sense a series coming on?

Thanks Silikind, Im glad you like them :)

I posted a link to my flickr page in my first post, and its where I keep all my snaps. It is a bit of a mish mash of proper photography and just photos of outings and friends , although I do try and make those good too even if I dont quite pay so much attention sometimes to them :P

As for the series I wouldn't mind, however will just contine as I am till I get enough photos together that would make a set, and go from there. I have a few recurring themes going and do look out for suitable matter - dogs being one of them.

What I do have coming out soonish is a coffee table book of my best images from my short time back in NZ. I have it laid it out but my tedancy to really finesse anything going to print is making me wanna revisit some of the pictures and work over the raw's again to try and get sharper, cleaner pictures better suited for print. It's not something I wanna do halfassed! I will be posting up a link when it is ready to go on sale.

anyway as im here.. heres a few more dog pictures I quite like... A howling Huskie and the lovely family bear - A maremma sheepdog! dodgy focus on them but still - I like em...

EDIT: added one more...
