Cool,
For some reason i'm thinking avatar/lion king cross over.
I'd tighten the composition. lower the horizon a bit and just choose one group of people to focus on.
atm I'm not sure which i'm meant to be looking at.
I find the centre guys the most interesting. and the flanking guys just plain distracting.
maybe crop out a bit of pride rock and get closer on the guys standing under it.
some good opportunity her to play with the light/shadow from that rock.

so heres the painting after a few more hours. have taken out the guys on the side and put focus on father and son. Also have tried making the mountain seem more distant and tightened up the composition over all.

Not much for me to add dude, its looking pretty mean. Are the indigenous charaters ment to be threatened or curious about these visitors?

Thanks Crosshare, the natives are father and son they are both curious and wary of the visitors. Heres an updated piece and im pretty close to calling this one done for now as I am about to start work on another project.

Cheers

Is that grass blowing into the air behind them? If so, maybe the clothes they're wearing can react a bit to the wind. The kids left arm feels like it should be in shadow, especially the forearm under the adults leg, instead of having that highlight.
