“When I first 'saw' a 3D program in 1998, I'd never even used a computer!! ”WOW SHOCKING, i believe that year i was staying at home playing starcraft all night when my grandma tried to sneak upon me to see whether I 'd done my homework. In china, if you are a good boy, it used to be a bad thing to play video games. My mum still complained about how I wanted to do 3d animation, which in her opinion is like playing video game.
Ok quite off the topic, I m from a "third" world country and my family was one of those not very rich or hi-tech, and I first used a computer with a system called dos in 1996. And the first game i played off a floppy drive is called lion king, that brings me back memories. Anyway, from what I heard, many new zealanders start using computers during 70s, at least by 80s(but i believe your story).
If you were talking about the internet I would easily believe you, since new zealand is still at a very Paleolithic stage in terms of internet even after all the third world countries decided to give the unlimited internet a shot. And out of all the things people protest every day, people seems to be perfectly happy with that. I remember my flatmates used to have this flat meeting about me using up 5gb of data a month, and ask me" hey what do you use 5gb data for? i can't use 5gb for a year."
Off topic again, I am sorry to spam this on your topic rusty, respect your work a lot, it's just that i need to get this internet thing off my chest once for a while.
