Haha thanks Worzel. Likewise awesome stuff, with your courtroom animation in particular. Really strong emotion in the animating. I see your tutoring up at MDS. Did get the opportunity to go to the Pixar masterclass by any chance?

Thanks man. That vid is like a year old now (at least?)... and it's funny looking back at it. I think I could make it even more interesting, emotion/expression wise now. Hehe.

I didn't go to the Pixar masterclass, but I went to the last one they did... a couple years back. Well, it was just the animation - they didn't have the story guy. But the animation program for the day is the same each time. My main reason for attending last time was to see what he thought was important vs what I was teaching in class. Turned out it was all the same!

I think the masterclass is best for recent graduates, or students who have been studying for a while, just so all those important points are drummed in again. And hearing those important points all delivered in one day, from a Pixar animator probably makes them stick better!

Not sure if it's really good for beginners, because it is a fast overview - you really can't go in depth and 'teach' animation all within 8hrs. And if you already do a lot of animation, and are confident in it, then you won't learn anything new. But it is good to hear an animator at his level confirm practices and workflow etc.

Cool, nice work you got there. Awesome textures, I like the attention you pay to your enviro. Lots of awesome little details. That lense on the truck is sweet. Are you a jaime jones fan? Something about this reminds me of his work.

Thanks guys.

I did use a few texture, although I tend to drop them in and keep working over top so it's probably more like digital mixed media.

Oatestwder yeah I agree about the interior, although at one point the way id arranged the little lights it looked like an infinite corridor haha.

Yeefoong the basis of the soldiers uniforms was actually bits of photos photoblasted in to establish the palette then painted over. I do love Jones' stuff, and I suppose it is coming through subconsciously now you point it out.

Wikz I think the asphalt was the only other main texture. All the weathering I achieved with Scott Robertson's cool masking method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O98QUA7Iho&feature=c4-overview&playnext=1&list=TLlc4pMTaerVw.

The gritty overall feel I just achieved by leaving much of the original pencil scan showing through all the paint, then sharpening it all up with filters at the end.

very cool as always dred. I think that car might be slightly too wide for road use though. I like the shape of the windows on the side, probably not great for the people inside but cool lookin'!
