Pherrny is a large panthera from jungles of Avulan-5.

Famous for its peculiarly shaped ears and ferocious
behaviour.

Trophy is in collection of lady Emma Sutton.

Avulan-5 intergate code: #573SV-234D9-A5

Comments:
Pure 2d image.
I didn't paint fur this time due to lack of time. I don't think I'll proceed any further with the animal portraits.
They do not seem to spark any big interest and I have a bit more interesting concepts in my mind.

Hi-res versions are here

Little compilation of the process.
Getting perspective right on such slight camera angle has been very tough. Photographic lighting was ridiculously hard, more difficult than with Khornukoe
I'm bit embarrassed to show the process because this is definitely not the best way of doing it. There has been a lot of trial and error. And I'll use a different technique next time.

Grey background was my display fault. I thought it was white until I used a picker. Changing "balance of white" at the very late stage turned to be another headache.

So I'm showing this making of exclusively for NZCGI :)

Much appreciated!! It's always great to see work in progress... even if you're not totally happy with it!

Pretty cool creation though, and nice artwork of course! What's the next concept?

Hi Worzel,

Thx a lot!
Well, I'll stop doing animals for sure, though I had concept thumbs for 5 of them, it doesn't seem there's a fair amount of interest to it from the audience.
I've started new series, they will be way more entertaining and with pretty cool storyline. I pm'ed you the name :) don't want to leak it, hopefully it'll be big.
And I'm looking for style that doesn't take me crazy amounts of time to finish an image and that delivers a photoreal result.
Very busy with other things, so I don't think I'll post a new image sooner than in couple months.
