Because you all need a lesson in not doing what you're supposed to be doing... :P

Another wallpaper, because I can. This time it's 5760x1200 (3x1920x1200) so one for all the tripple 24" geeks out there ;) Also a depth-blur-less version can be found here http://evo-boy.deviantart.com/art/Sea-of-Six-106844367 if you're that way inclinded Image

Hehe... looks cool man. You should model a tiny version of yourself and hide him somewhere and people can play "where's evoboy". :D

Hahahaha I like it :P That would be the next level of procrastination :P I originally wanted to have the height of each object be governed by an image below, so using particles and such (similar to making particles have the colour of an image from the surface it's emitting from), but after pissin around for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long I settled for randomisation :P But I still like it :)

Looks really cool man, not as festive as your other one, but much better.
Nice simple idea that turned out really well Image
If you do manage to pull the height/image stuff off, you should combine Rogers idea with it and use a picture of your face as the image
Imagehmmmm, this just got me thinking........ I feel some procstination coming on myself

You can do this with the colorAtPoint MEL command. Pretty nifty.

if i remember correctly colorAtPoint allows you to define a UV range and sample it... returning a array of values. You can then use this information to drive alsorts.. like geometry scale.

I rememeber long time ago trying to create a pinboard for a creative animation exercise... it was hardout and with some help, me and programmer even went as far as converting images to acsii to access the data...

After all this we learnt of this handy little mel. Dont recall ever using it but it does exactly what we where trying to do without it :P

Heh, isn't that always the way :P But yea, that could certainly do the job, now if only MEL was my strong point...
