Is there anything like a Blender course going on in NZ?

I guess another way to say that is if Lancer and Avier are you guys teaching it anywhere?

I'm thinking something beyond the Bubbledome for toddlers thing. hmm.. coming to think of it, that may be a good start for me.

Soz if this been addressed elsewhere.

Isn't that one of the Mad Max sequels? :P

Lancer is teaching Blender at MDS... as part of a longer course.

As Worzel mentioned, Blender has made an appearance at MDS as part of a new "Digital Creativity" course where students get a taster of the different kinds of Media the school offers education in (e.g Graphic Design, 3D Animation, Video Effects etc). Blender is used as an introduction to 3D. The idea is to provide some 3D exposure for students who may be considering taking the 3D Animation course. The latter course is taught with Maya, though the Blender experience should certainly provide a good founding in principles of 3D modeling (e.g. working to design, the 3D interface, effective edgeloops etc). I'm very pleased with the work the students have been producing on the MDS course.

I'm currently negotiating with BubbleDome about course consistency across the expanding list of locations where they are hosting. At the moment, courses may vary in depth or what programs are taught (e.g. Blender or not) depending on which tutors are available at the time. Most BubbleDome courses are aimed at intermediate age children.

Where abouts are you? I am in Auckland for the next week (abouts) and head back to Wellington afterwards.

Lancer.
