some more progress, managed to get the scoop and arm to rotate smoothly with the main body of the digger (finally)

I had some issues with the scoop rotating on its yaw which i locked out, i dont think it will happen anymore anyway because i changed some stuff.
And the piece that attaches to the scoop and the piston to control the scoops angle would rotate inwards as i rotated everything.. but i fixed that by putting it into a group.
Dont know why it was happening :\

Pistons next i think.. because they just look cool :P

For an added challenge, set up an IK/FK swap rig!

Looking pretty smooth so far.

Thanks Eddie but Christ man, this simple rig is giving me headaches enough already! :D

Had to rebuild the rig because i was all messy with it and it broke.. so it works again but one of the fixes i had to stop something is gone and i cant remember how i did it :\

pneumatics done on the arm, i think those.. .cables.. are next so no more easy mode :\

Here be the progress!

For the last few weeks (since just before Christmas) I've been working with my old demolition team versus a few college buildings. I remembered your thread here and thought to shoot some handheld reference for your rig.

I know your project is hold, but there it is all the same. The footage is mainly to show the manoeuverability of the medium sized digger, and also a large 20 tonne model... I think your version looks to be considerably larger.

Nice reference. I like how the arm jerks around a bit and the end shakes and has that overlapping movement. Cool.
