Hey cheers people, Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, I have had minor inaccuracies with my photo reference of the hand in pose, And i still haven't obtained gosu weightpainting skills in order to make my hand deform properly/realistically. I've scrapped the animation due to my deadline being a few days away and am just going to have to push my modelling in order to hopefully get my 'pass'

Heres an untextured model of my hand in pose. It doesn't seem right to me so any critic from the anatomists of this forum would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I might update this with some fresh stuff. There is a few obvious modelling and texturing problems that i'll be furiously trying to fix in the next few days, but if you guys see something less obvious that I may have missed feel free to critique. ^^

Hi Nige

What paint projection tools are you using to transfer the photoreference onto your hand? The hand does look like a cold rubber version, and SSS should be able to fix this up although as MDS will likely advise, it can kill your render time. You can fake it though through various methods (like this one: http://www.danybittel.ch/t_sss.html) which render very quickly and are sometimes better than having none.

Some nice stuff happening here. Particularly liking the occlusion pass of the church. Time's a cow aye?

Hey man, I've actually scrapped the project with the hand, The edgeloops were all over the place, and i'm much better off starting a new character from scratch. I favorited the link you put up, I'd like to get back to modelling and texturing my own characters after i get this church out of the way. Time certainly is a cow, I just hope in its delivery the milk won't be sour. ^^
