right I'm sick of weta and other studios not hiring me :P, so when I'm not at work i wanna work on a short and tell a story of a girl and her robot guardian thats breaking down.

at the moment all aspects of production will look like it will be down to me as obviously no financial backing. So obviously this will be a long slow production made slower that i can only work on this when I'm not at work lol. I hope you guys will bare with me and thank you for viewing.

Atm all i have is some concepts for the girl Invicta, concepts for the robot (Buey) will come very soon :D

Hey thanks Roger :) the story is a girl is desperately trying to fix her robot guardian. It's covered in bullet holes, dents, burns. She eventually falls asleep failing to fix buey. The robot has a few sparks of life sees invicta asleep and with his last little but of power he hugs her and describes forever .

working out the finer points of the story, think ive gone a too Cliche route for the first scene, setting up emotion for an ex positional flashback... Its over used.

I think I'll redo the story board for scene 1 i like the idea of the audience not knowing what happened to Buey and Invicta untill this point, it also saves me additional work too MUAHAHAHAHA!

also should save this for a time when im not fatigued from working too hahaha.

as always guys Id love any feedback :D

idea 2 for the first scene, maybe a little too vague, or maybe i should not include the robot in this shot to add to the mystery

I like the first one, except I think you could skip the wide in the first shot, and start with a shot of the doors from inside when they burst open. Otherwise the pacing feels strange with one wide (slow) shot, then suddenly we're with her and she's panicking. I'd just start with action from shot 1.

The 2nd set of boards was harder to read. It actually seems like she looks at the robot and then pulls something out of him. Not sure what is happening from boards 6-8.

What happens in the flash back?

Thanks for your feedback Roger, exactly what I needed :) love your idea of the first shot can even have a scene where she's trying to move buey. My idea for the flashback is snipets of a lynch mob and they are attacking her robot as he killed someone who indangered invicta and instigated a civil war if you will, too complex of an idea but maybe I can give clues to it

Sounds complex. It'll be interesting to see the boards for it. The trick will be making sure the audience knows the robot is good, and still feels sorry for it after it kills a person. Even as self defence, killing someone might make the robot seem bad.

yeah its very complex maybe i can suggest the flash black with quick flashy stills that play in a sequence, but trying to make this project manageable for one person, and ive also been commissioned to do 40 digital paintings too Yikes

Cool you've got some painting work!

For the robot project, I'd keep it simple in terms of story, because you've got 2 characters to do, and it's just yourself working on it. I think you can achieve a lot of what you want without showing the backstory with flashbacks. Possibly the audience doesn't need to know what happened, but instead just let them focus on what is happening 'now'... which could be much stronger.

Yeah that was kinda my thinking and the more mystery I have the more intrigue I should have too especially if I sho off awesome texture damage and stuff tell a story through the characters grizzled appearance.

I know I'm stoked about the painting job will be good to have an art job that pays my sister hasn't paid me for my part in painting a mural with her lol
