NZCGI Code of Conduct

Please note, these rules and guidelines may be updated and/or altered as the forum continues to grow. This is a creative community designed to allow members to help each other. Please be constructive with your feedback. It is ok to simply say you do not agree/like something without reason, but please do so in a friendly manner, not in an offensive or hostile manner. Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy.

While free speech is encouraged, you must not undergo activities which may be damaging to NZCGI or the communities within it.

Forum moderators have full discretion to address any behaviour which they feel is inappropriate. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis - the action taken may be more lenient or more severe than other cases of a similar nature.

1. If you are a company or educational facility, please do not use the forum as a means of simply advertising without contributing or replying to members queries. Please post examples of your work to help inspire creativity within the forum. However, ‘job’ or ‘event’ posting for your company or educational facility is acceptable (within the appropriate forum) without having to answer replies or contribute further to the forum.

2. For the sake of people viewing this forum in locations such as their place of work, if you post any artwork containing nudity, please have a warning in your topic title such as “contains nudity”.

3. For the sake of people viewing this forum in locations such as their place of work, please do not post reference images containing nudity in topics where you are not the original author of that topic, unless it is relevant. For example, if you post an image for reference of arm muscles, do not post a fully nude image. Please edit the image before posting. If you are unable to edit the image, please link to the image with a URL and put a comment that the image contains nudity.

4. Do not make multiple posts with the same content in different areas of the forum – this is considered ‘spamming’.

5. Anything posted that is deemed offensive will be edited by the moderators. Please use your better judgment when posting, even when it is ‘funny’ it may still be offensive to other members.

6. Do not ‘hijack’ topics and change the direction of the original post so much that it loses its original purpose. If you see a change occurring, it may be better to continue the discussion under a new topic or in a different forum.

7. Continuous posting of topics in the wrong forums will initially result in a warning. Please ask if you are not sure where to post.

8. Do not upload files onto our server for the sole purpose of ‘file sharing’. Make your posts and uploaded files relevant to the forum you are posting in.

9. Posting of opinions is fine and is the basis of critique, but do not turn helpful feedback into futile arguments or ‘mud slinging’.

10. Do not make random posts or spam the forums to simply increase your ‘post count’.

11. Do not promote software (or any digital) piracy.

12. Do not reply to 'SPAM' topics as it makes it harder for us to keep the forum clean.

13. Within the 'Work In Progress' and 'Finished Artwork' forums you must only post work that was either created by you, or you were involved with at some level. Work that was created by another person(s) should be posted in the 'Off Topic' forum.
