thought I'd put up some playing around I do in the spare time. First, here's a Harley Davidson custom Sportster that I'm planning on making a sweet short/show reel with.

Thanks for lookin

File comment: forgive the grainy occlusion render as I did this at the end of the day at work and needed to do it quickly.

There seems to be a really big gap around the headlight, looking from the front, is that how it is on the actual thing?

Other than that, pretty cool. Nice amount of detail throughout

looking good dude.
I agree with evo, the headlight looks a bit weird. I also think the wheel hubs/brakes/frames/forks feel a bit weirdly scaled to each other. but I don't know the bike off the top of my head.

- yes you're right, having referenced from two different sportsters to make it I see I'll have to make the headlight bigger

most of the parts are from custom bikes but are direct references to the real thing, however around the bottom of the frame is a lot of guts and wiring that my rider tore out because he thought it was unnecessary since the wires mounted there are mostly for indicators and brake lights and other sissy baby things, this guy is some kind of rebel. but as for the disc brakes, the spokes, and the forks that's all from photos brother.

will post an update once I've started texturing.

also coming up: an nCloth HORSE!? of course of course! my homeland as a hdr globe, and the man the myth: dogman.

heya friends,

So this is "Dogman". He's going to ride that motorcycle above, which I made the headlight bigger on but I'll save showing that off til I start rendering it. I don't condone not wearing a helmut on a motorcycle, but he's a rebel I tell you, his Dogue de Bordeaux mother told him countless times he couldn't dock his ears but do you think that stopped him? as if.

once i've finished sculpting him (polish, gloves, fingers, belt), I'll rig him for a short with his motorcycle. Thinking nHair joint chains for the jowels as the most important dynamic attribute. wondering if fur will respond to the surface of displaced geometry in Maya- any thoughts? if not it'll be a texture i guess, a short haired breed probably will be easy enough to cheat

post up that hdri soon, having trouble stitching the sky at the moment but it's just about done, totally buying a chrome ball next time..

Thanks man, probably the most challenging feat yet was to be awake enough for being on live tv in the morning haha. Post some texture updates of him soon before the fun rigging shots!

Coming along nicely Jake! What software did you use to model the bike?

I look forward to seeing the finished concept! them chops getting blown by the wind while riding, plus some slobber will be priceless haha

Cool - looking good mate.
I think his stomach is weird - but if he's sitting on the bike it'll probably need to be worked into pose.

I think everything looks a little flat - you should look for opportunities for spec and reflection. get some highlight kicks going.

thank you both, the dog renders are only diffuse passes atm from zbrush, the other passes will be posted soon in maya renders. I do agree the bike is a bit flat though am going for a matte black paint job for the majority

ng, I modelled the bike in maya

right, let's talk nipples.

with most dog breeds, I can assume male and female have equivalent nipples since nipples are a development of all fetuses being born female before the Y chromosome gives us manliness. as for amount i think dogs can have as many as 8 nipples going down the torso, as inguinal nipple structured mammals do.
