WELCOME ALL TO THE NZCGI SPEED PAINTING CONTESTS. (Blatantly taxed from Laz' speed modelling overview... :P)

1) At the start of each competition (Tuesdays - fortnightly) a mod will post a brief, a painting time limit and competition end date (usually one week after competition start date). Spend no longer than the allocated time; if you haven't finished its up to you if you post it or not. You can submit as many entries as you like. At the end of competition an announcement will be made in the current competition thread stating the end of the round, and anything posted after this will not be counted. After this, a poll will be created in a separate thread to decide the winner.

2) Everything in your submission should be your own work and created specifically for the contest; using any work you have done previously is considered cheating so don't do it.

3) Prep work such as references are not included in the time, so spend some time getting good ref images (its important to keep this skill up also)

4) Because of the nature of a speed painting contest, WIP are not needed. Your submission should consist of:

Final Rendering
Time spent painting
Painting software used

5) Please keep your submitted images no larger than 1024 x 1024 and 200kb, if you wish you can include detail crops as well.

6) To help keep things cleaner, post your submissions in the same thread the contest is announced.

7) These contests will be operating on an honour system, by that, please be honest with the times its taken you. The only person you are hurting when lying about how long it took, is yourself.

If you have any questions please ask in the Speed Painting Questions thread.

Most importantly, have fun!

a) Composition
b) Impact
c) Originality (where applicable)
d) Time taken vs image complexity

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk I have a workstation.
