I'm not holding this up as an example of great photograpghy (and I promise this wont be the first in a long list of photos of my baby ;-)) but...I introduced her to bubbles today and managed to get this snap on my PowerShot and I thought I'd share it as it was blimin hard to blow the bubble, then take the shot! But I thought it turned out cool, and the detail in the reflection on the big bubble is interesting.

Very cool! The bubbles lined up perfectly to overlap your baby's face yet they don't obscure or interfere with the overall appearance - just awesome! I really like shots like this because it's almost impossible to replicate which makes it so original and uniquely yours.

cool maybe a slight tweak to the colours photoshop would sell it.

small tweak of the levels , copy the image and make it softlight with blur at 45-35% opaticaty
then another copy and screen at 34%

just for a nice rich colour without going over board.

i might start recording some actions for people to download and use?

thanks guys...Mr Swan I appreciate your kind comments. I did discard 'bubbles 1 through 11' to get this cutie and had fun doing it too! There was one sinister pic where she looked like she was wearing a bubble beard. Mr Hawking. I made the changes you suggested and it did help, though I assumed you meant the photo would have three layers, with normal, then softlight then screen on top, and when I did that I found the softlight layer didnt impact the final look as it had screen on top. Or perhaps I read you wrong? It still looked richer though.

cheers
Jen
