This kind of plastic has scratched vertical stripes in it... when placed over images (usually book covers, rulers etc) it makes them either 3D or animated when the image is turned in a left / right rocking motion.

I would be interested in experimenting with images like this, seeing whether I could make likewise images from my computer & printer.

...but does anyone know where I might source the specific plastic material? I reckon there must be businesses around which sell it in various sizes.

Did you ever have any luck sourcing lenticular plastic?

I just saw Untamed mention Sidhe, and I'm pretty sure they did something with small lenticular screens for portable gaming. Might be worth sending a PM.

Not much luck really. The only sellers I've tracked down are also using it to make the kind of things I might be interested in. I guess I'll have to spill the beans on the idea.

You see, I thought that as a 3D artist, if I could make my own images come to life, it would open the doors for marketing 3D prints etc and making a few dollars in the process. However, most of the places I've tracked down are doing this themselves anyway, and many only give the final product away (e.g. you give them the image to print and they make it happen). Without me being able to source raw materials at a cheap rate, it makes me more of a middleman to these other companies if I were to solicit them to do the work, so I pretty much dropped the concept as "unlikely to happen" at this point.

Will PM Untamed though and see what happens... thanks for the pointer.
