Hey all,

Here's a link to my 2012 show reel showcasing rigging, nDynamics, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and compositing. Enjoy

All that stuff looks pretty good, but I think the presentation needs work. I'd ditch the montage of images in the title screen, which look kinda meh with the low contrast look and green titles. Try for something more simplistic and ummmm... nicer!

In the first image below, the second line of text is difficult to read.

In the second image, I find the vignette too strong. It's like you're hiding too much of the image, instead of showing it off.

The last item on your reel is a still image, but it's taking up less than half of the screen, while the other half is just black. Any chance of having a closer more detailed element on the left?

Also the "Lighting/Rendering/Compositing" text is flickering.

hey Jake I noticed you had two demo reels on your vimeo, if you didn't know its possible to update your video if you go to the settings, it means you keep the same url and you'll know that a future job application always has the newest version rather than dealing with multiple reels/urls.

Looking good though, is that girl a new project?, just what Worzel is saying about the presentation, simplify it and keep it consistent, the moving text was drawing my eye away from the work.

See you out and about man :)

thank you brother, yes Margot was what I've done to stay busy after school. I can see how it's confusing on my vimeo to with having an animation reel and a show reel, I'll give it some thought whether to keep up the animation reel, I'm going to have to get onto fixing that new one's look up while working on the very ambitious project am working on now ;)
