Khornukoe is a large mammal living in the great steppes of Maladun planet. Known to its large scale, twice higher than a regular man, and unusual twisted horn.

A proud trophy of lord Jorge Crainoq, the most prominent hunter of Hiropi colony.

Maladun intergate code: #855DF-341L9-9J

Comments:
Pure 2d image with overlayed photo-textures on drawn black and white base. Did about 35 horn variations, some were interesting and might go to future concepts. To get a better eye on photography I spent couple days in library getting through a pile of photography books. Should have seen no less than 60 books.
Fur was a pain, had to draw about 90% eventually. Follicle by follicle.

Hi-res versions are here

Hey, Worzel,

Yeah, I haven't been posting for a while. Worked at Oktobor, now at Gameloft. And bunch of contracts in between.
Thank you for the compliments :)
More portraits will be coming.

Anton

Man that is riDICulously cool. Thinking about the patience for the fur gives me a headache. Plus i just checked out your stuff on CGSociety. The cold war mantis is epic!

I love this Khornukoe guy!! Not only technically perfect, but you get a sense of 'pride' from the image (both that the hunter would have had pride, and that the beast himself had pride). LOVE. Such a cool horn shape too.

drednorzt, thank you! Thanks for mentioning mantis, I guess I need to do a little touch up on cold war mechs as they are still pretty good from concept art point but aren't presented in modern way (did them 4 years ago)

rebelrabble, thank you, your comment is very interesting to me
